Starting therapy can feel like a big step. There are many different types of therapy and you might not even know what you need. That's all completely fine - it's my job to help you navigate it and help it feel manageable from the first meeting.
I bring together several different types of therapy, adapting the way I work to your individual needs. The foundation of my approach is inherently positive and empowering. I believe we all have value as people and are doing the best we can, within our own unique circumstances. I believe that whatever our individual history or situation, we all have the potential for greater understanding of ourselves and for growth and change.
I work 'relationally'. This means that I work in a collaborative way, rather than giving advice or a diagnosis. 'Relational' also describes how, because many of the difficulties that bring us to therapy arise from our experiences in relationships with others, our problems can also be helped by a relationship with a safe, ethical other. My aim as your therapist is to offer the opportunity for this kind of relationship as a vehicle for healing.
Put simply, my job is to learn about you and what life is like for you, support and empower you to make whatever decisions you choose to make. I believe that not only are you capable of growth and change, but that you deserve to be happy and fulfilled.
